A New Look for Dakota Walleye Guide Service

Tuesday, November 11, 2014

With the busy summer fishing season coming to an end, Dakota Walleye Guide Service decided it would be a great time to refresh their online presence. Factor 360 was happy to assist.

First on the list was branding. The team at Factor 360 proposed that “Dakota Walleye – Karl Palmer Guide Service” was a little long, so it was shortened to Dakota Walleye Guide Service. The logo was reworked to a simple, clean design, easy to reproduce for print and promotional pieces, with a serif font and a distinctive walleye outline, favored by Karl.

The website design followed suit, combining Karl’s hidden talent for photography with a fresh, outdoor, tourism-based feel. Factor 360 creates all their new websites using a fluid, responsive design, meaning the layout of dakotawalleye.com will adapt for mobile devices and tablets.

The team at Factor 360 took the existing content and ideas created by Karl Palmer and stepped things up a notch to create a more streamlined and consistent content strategy. Thanks to another of Karl’s hidden talents: writing, all the content took was a little tweaking to make it really stand out.

Are You Making the Best First Impression Possible?

Thursday, September 18, 2014

Are you making the best first impression possible? The look and feel of your logo makes a larger impact on consumers than you may think.

Your logo is a visual representation of everything your company stands for. Ideally, your company logo enhances potential customers and partners' crucial first impression of your business. A good logo can build loyalty between your business and your customers, establish a brand identity, and provide the professional look of an established enterprise.

There are basically three kinds of logos. Font-based logos consist primarily of a type treatment. Then there are logos that literally illustrate what a company does, such as when a house-painting company uses an illustration of a brush in its logo. And finally, there are abstract graphic symbols-such as Nike's swoosh-that become linked to a company's brand.

Growing businesses can rarely afford the millions of dollars and years of effort required to create these associations, so a logo that clearly illustrates what your company stands for may be a better choice. Even a type treatment of your company's name may be too generic, customers should be able to tell what you do just by looking at your logo.
